...thank
you for our Web Workshop the other week. We all really enjoyed
it and are inspired enough to try for ourselves.

Introduction
In 2001
I started to run training sessions for people who wanted to get
started creating web sites. These sessions are aimed at people
with limited or no knowledge of how to build a website.
The type of people who have already attended training have wanted
to learn how to create their own personal homepages and to
build websites for small businesses they run.
Typical
Topic Areas
- Why
do you want a website - Target Audience?
- Examples
of good and bad websites - Do's & Don'ts
- HTML
basics - Simple guide to programming language
- Site
planning and building - Preparation
- Macromedia
Dreamweaver - Software tutorial
-
Publishing your website on the web - Where & How to 'upload'
your site
-
Search engines - How to get people to find your site
- Hit
counters - Find out how popular your new site is
- Site
extras - Message boards, guestbooks etc.
All
topics are covered at a pace which suits the trainees and can
be arranged as a one off morning or afternoon session, a series
of regular sessions or an irregular pattern of sessions as and
when needed. The training sessions are relatively informal and
are kept simple throughout. Jargon is kept to a minimum and necessary
technical references are fully explained.
Location
I am based in Rayleigh, Essex have a laptop for training purposes
and can travel to you. I can travel to most parts of Essex and parts
of Kent, Hertfordshire and London. Rather than small groups of people
travelling to me, it is more convenient for the trainees to convene
at a suitable location which I can travel to.
