The
sites are simple to understand and navigate and strictly

Questions
and Answers.
Where
are you based?
I
am based in Rayleigh, Essex in the South East of England.
Sites can be built quite easily without actually needing
to meet face to face so I am able to offer website building
to anyone in the UK.
How
much will a website cost?
I
don't have a fixed pricing structure. I prefer to generate
a quotation depending on the amount of time I think will
need to be taken to create a good site. Factors which influence
this are: amount of scanning / photo editing required, number
of pages etc. As a very broad guideline, I would say an
average site would only cost around
£250-300.
What
sort of sites do you build?
I
build simple to navigate sites mainly for small clubs and
businesses. I do not use Flash or any other tools which
can slow sites down and irritate users. My own site, TheEyeGuide.co.uk
is a demonstration of one of the styles I use. Another example
of a site I have created is EastonsCC.co.uk.
Another of my sites is VetaEvents.co.uk.
My full time work gets me involved in web design and build
and it is only recently that I have started doing private
work. A point to remember when you are thinking about a
website is that the latest web technology is not necessarily
the best ~ Think about the last time you visited a site
and had no idea how to find what you were looking for.
How
come you don't charge thousands of pounds to build a website?
Because
it's not my 'proper' job. In fact it's more of a hobby.
I enjoy doing it and therefore I don't mind giving up some
of my spare time to it. I charge a price which I think small
companies and clubs can afford - many people don't and this
stops smaller organisations from having websites. For the
same reason, I can't build a website for you in a week because
I have other commitments, a company charging thousands of
pounds probably could.
Can
I take over the website once you have created it?
Yes,
I can create the site and then once it is ready we can move
it to where you can access it. You may need a bit of guidance
on how to do this and how to update the site but I can help
with that.
How
can I contact you?
Email
me by clicking the link at the top of the page.
How
long does it take to build a website?
This
really depends on how much information you have to hand
over immediately and what format it is in. It also depends
on how big the site is going to be, if a large amount of
scanning is involved and how busy I am! A broad estimate
would be about 4-8 weeks. This could be improved on after
discussion.
You
haven't answered my question here, how can I find out what
I need to know?
No
problem. Just email me by clicking the link at the top of
the page and I'll get back to you straight away.
